We've Moved!!

Our office is now located in the newly restored Wilson Street Heritage House. This house was originally built in the 1920's and has been fully restored to its original glory. It has since been relocated to Tranquille Road.

At one time, it was the home to Stewart Wilson, the first Commissioner of the Council of North Kamloops (equivalent to the modern day mayor).

While our phone number remains the same, our mailing address will be new. It will change to 115 Tranquille Road, V2B 3E5.

We encourage everyone to stop by and view the house and see what we're all about. We will be showcasing some local artwork enterance as time progresses.

North Shore's Own Farmer's Market

The North Shore now has its very own Farmer's Market. Products to look for include farm eggs, organic coffee beans, hanging baskets and of course fruits and vegetables such as tomatoes, cucumbers, spinach and apples picked that very day.

The market runs every Friday afternoon starting May 16, 2008 from 3:30pm to 9:00pm on that portion of McDonald Avenue between King Street and Holway Street.

There are still a few spots available for interested venders. For more information please contact Kelly Redgrove at (250) 682-3325 or Peter Mutrie at 376-2411.

Art Market Opening

The North Shore Arts Market will be having its grand opening on July 8th and will run every Saturday until October 21st. It will be running from 10am to 2pm in McDonald Park, which can be found at 262 King Street.

The Art Market is a place for local artisans to display their creative work to the public in a friendly open setting. The diverse artwork from these talented artists will include everything from paintings and sculptures to jewellery and pottery.

For more information, please email Caroline Dick at the Community Arts Council, or phone (250) 372-7323.

Art Walk

Our 2nd annual Art Walk is currently being organized in partnership with the Community Arts Council. Local artists are paired with a participating retailer to display their work in store fronts for approximately three to four weeks. This gives both the retailer and the artist exposure to the community.

For more information, please email Caroline Dick at the Community Arts Council, visit their website or
phone (250) 372-7323.

8th Annual NSBIA Golf Tournament Results

The NSBIA Golf Tournament was once again a huge success. Held on May 18th at the Kamloops Golf and Country Club, we had over 60 people in attendance.

The winning team was from Harrison Industrial Electric and was presented the annual trophy.

Peter Meidema from Progressive Air won the charity 50/50 draw donating half the proceeds to the Royal Inland Hospital.

The NSBIA staff take full credit for the wonderful weather.
